Academe is a distinctive Maine brasserie and tavern featuring locally sourced food and friendly, informal service. Located within The Kennebunk Inn, Chef – Owners, Brian O’Hea and Shanna Katherine Horner O’Hea, draw on their varied culinary and artistic backgrounds to create innovative, palate-tempting offerings that appeal to a broad range of tastes and dining budgets.

A 2013 Finalist in the Maine Lobster Chef of the Year competition, Chef Shanna O’Hea competed with her dish, “Lobster Lo’Maine” a playful take on Lo Mein. Academe is the home of the Maine Lobster Pot Pie which was featured on The Food Network’s “Best Thing I Ever Ate,” The Travel Channel’s “Food Paradise”, and in Oprah Winfrey’s “O” the magazine. Maine Lobster Pot Pie has been on Academe’s menu for more than 5 years.
