Five Fishermen Restaurant
For a chance to get fancy, Five Fishermen is recognized annually as one of the best dining experiences in Halifax, and located in one of downtown’s most historical buildings with connections to the Titanic and Halifax Explosion. With a full menu they serve up lobster-inspired starters like lobster empanadas and crispy corn-crusted lobster claws. Yum! With dark wood and exposed brick, this is romantic and historical choice in a maritime town. The building that was originally constructed as a schoolhouse in 1817 and is across the street from St Paul’s Anglican Church (the oldest building in Halifax, built in 1750, the year after Halifax was founded.) Insider Tip: As Nova Scotia is as famous for lobster as it is scallops, we’d suggest trying the lobster stuffed Digby Scallops. Expensive? Sure. Worth it? The reviews clearly agree, this one is a keeper!
