Old Granite Inn – Overlooking the Harbor

Historic Yet Modern

Located in the national historic district of Rockland across from the harbor and Ferry Terminal, this property began in 1840 as a Federal Colonial house built of gray granite quarried nearby in St. George. Part of Historic Inns of Rockland, the inn has undergone extensive renovations and, in 2007, a front porch was added that extends the entire width of the building.  The porch offers the perfect place to relax with tea and conversation in the late afternoon.  It is the first sign of the welcoming atmosphere within.

In 2008 Old Granite Inn received Environmental Leader certification from the State of Maine for its efforts to help save the planet through reduced water usage, conserving energy, recycling and reusing materials and using environmental-friendly detergents and cleaning products.   Old Granite Inn is a pet friendly property.

Why we love it:  It’s ideally situated across from the Rockland Harbor and within walking distance of museums and restaurants!
