Le Central – Lobster at a French Bistro

A Charming Restaurant in Bristol

A popular neighborhood restaurant located in the heart of Bristol,  Le Central offers a magnifique dining experience whether you choose to go for lunch or dinner!    French country fare includes grilled confit duck leg and fennel sausage, coq au vin, steak frites and other favorites.

Of course our recommendation for dinner is the Grilled Sakonett Lobster charmoula rubbed and served with warm salad of local, seasonal produce and lemon butter!   Another taste bud tantalizer is the Lobster Mac & Cheese made with panko baked penne, Sakonnet Lobster, porcini, Fontina and Gruyere cheeses.  Simply delicious!   And, just so you know –  Sakonnet is in Little Compton, Rhode Island so the lobster is locally caught and always fresh.

Why we love it:   They serve wine by the glass.   We suggest a Chardonnay with your native lobster meal.

The DeWolf Tavern is located in a renovated 1818 warehouse built by the Bristol-based maritime merchants James and William DeWolf for their shipping business in the “Triangle Trade.” A boat slip originally ran alongside the Tavern where ships could dock and unload goods into both levels of the building.  Today, DeWolf features two levels for your dining pleasure. The first floor includes a rustic bar, intimate tables, cozy booths and a waterfront deck.  Upstairs you’ll find a comfortable dining room with a  fireplace for crisp evenings and an exterior deck for a memorable meal with a sunset view.

Serving contemporary American for breakfast, lunch and dinner, DeWolf Tavern offers something for everyone.  Try the lobster popovers, a lobster roll with a twist, the native steamed or even the stuffed!
