Order at the window and dine at one of the outdoor tables – or take your summer seafood to go!  Situated across from the Graffam Bros. Seafood Market which is open year round, the shack is open in the warmer months only. Yum!

Captain Jack Lobster Boat Adventure – Come Aboard!

Watch Lobster Traps Hauled Aboard an Authentic Lobster Boat

Take a lobster boat tour on the “Captain Jack”, a 30 foot authentic downeast lobster boat. Experience a unique adventure on board a traditional working lobster boat and join Captain Hale on a 1-1/4 hr. cruise. It’s exciting to watch as Captain Hale hauls his traps, get up close and personal with the lobsters, crabs, starfish, sea urchins and other exciting creatures from the sea.

When enjoying the Capt Jack Lobster Boat Tour, bring your camera to take panoramic pictures of the Owls Head Light house and the Rockland Breakwater Lighthouse. Please note they cannot haul traps on Sunday, but do offer fishing trips and Lighthouse tours aboard the lobster boat.  Insider Tip if traveling with children: there are no restroom facilities on the boat.

Reborn in 2013 when the Miller family took over, the Landings Restaurant offers fresh lobster entrees with a view!

One of three restaurants overlooking the bay, this casual eatery is open for lunch and dinner.   Offering lobster risotto, roasted lobster pie, lobster rolls with mayo and a hint of lemon and an incredible lobster BLT with a slab of (house-made, no preservatives) bacon, The Landings is a must stop when while visiting Rockland.

Old Granite Inn – Overlooking the Harbor

Historic Yet Modern

Located in the national historic district of Rockland across from the harbor and Ferry Terminal, this property began in 1840 as a Federal Colonial house built of gray granite quarried nearby in St. George. Part of Historic Inns of Rockland, the inn has undergone extensive renovations and, in 2007, a front porch was added that extends the entire width of the building.  The porch offers the perfect place to relax with tea and conversation in the late afternoon.  It is the first sign of the welcoming atmosphere within.

Attend the Maine Lobster Festival 2016

Maine Lobster Festival! August 3rd – August 7th, 2016

If you love lobster you have to visit!  What do you get when you mix the world’s greatest lobster cooker, 20,000 pounds of lobster, a sea goddess coronation, a big parade, top notch entertainment, an international crate race, fine art, talented crafts people and vendors, cooking contests, marine tent and MORE?!  The Maine Lobster Festival!

On opening day, general admission tickets are $5 for adults and $2 for kids 6-12. After that, adults pay $8. Sunday is our “Family Fun Day” and admission is free for all ages.  Tickets for entertainment acts and the carnival rides are a separate price. Click through to get all the details.

Getting there

The Festival site, at Rockland’s Harbor Park, is easy to find. Rockland is four hours by car from Boston and less than two hours from Portland.  Buses run every 30 min or less from the high school and middle school to the festival grounds and back.
