Rebecca’s Seafood Take Out – Picnic Tables And Water Views

No Frills  – Fast and Convenient! 

Rebecca’s is right next to the ferry and always a hub of activity on main drag in Old Harbor.  Featuring umbrella-covered picnic tables, they do have a small counter inside as well as a few tables and chairs.  Lobster rolls, fried clams, burgers, wraps and chowder.

Quintessential summer in New England experience (open until 2 am in summer) and cash only.

Everyone should experience this just once if not 100 times.  Just arriving at the Ocean House for breakfast or lunch at Seaside Terrace is a treat.  Once the valet parks your car, you can head upstairs to this incredible open air restaurant where the views of the ocean, are amazing.

The menus are limited but one of our favorites is the Seaside Lobster Roll on the Lunch menu.  Best enjoyed sitting under an umbrella, gazing out at the endless blue waters and sipping a cool drink.  Enjoy!

Captain Scott’s Lobster Dock – Rolls With a View!

A Popular Take-Out Restaurant at the Water’s Edge

Located at Shaw’s Cove in New London, Captain Scott’s Lobster Dock is a seasonal take-out restaurant where seafood lovers can sit back and enjoy an authentic New England experience.   A little hard to find but worth the adventure, Captain Scott’s is situated between the railroad tracks and an active marina and boat yard. A narrow shack with plenty of outdoor seating, Captain Scott’s offers and amazing lobster bisque, hot and cold lobster rolls and steamed lobsters that you can crack into!

Family owned and operated and named after Captain Thomas A. Scott who  arrived in New London in 1871 to build Race Rock Lighthouse in the Long Island Sound, Captain Scott’s is a seasonal favorite.  In addition to serving the best lobster rolls on the Connecticut coast, Captain Scott’s dishes out steamers, fried whole belly clams, scallops and hamburgers and chicken tenders for the landlubbers.   It’s all good.

Robinson’s Wharf – Watch Lobster Boats from The Deck

A Special Lobster Lover’s Menu. YUM!

Robinson’s Wharf Tug’s Pub & Seafood Market is located in a very interesting spot in Maine. Southport, an island jutting five miles long and two miles wide into the Atlantic Ocean, is located in Midcoast Maine at the end of the Boothbay Peninsula; ninety minutes drive north of Portland. The Island is connected to the mainland by a swing bridge erected in the 1939.  The bridge swings open every half-hour during the warmer months of the year, from April 30 until September 29.

This gem offers indoor and outdoor seating but try for the upper deck and best views of the busiest and picturesque waterways in midcoast Maine.   Offers an amazing menu for lobster lovers like lobster tacos, lobster BLT, lazy lobster and of course the lobster roll.

Why we love it:  This scenic restaurant shares the wharf with the lobster fishermen that catch their lobster menu.

An often named favorite on lobster shack lists, this featured spot offers extensive indoor and sundeck seating where guests can enjoy both the beauty of the harbor and the ocean beyond.  Over fifty years in business, Barnacle Billy’s restaurant has been known for its luxury lobster, steamed clams, large lusty drinks, barbecued chicken, homemade clam chowder, and of course, the lobster roll and lobster stew.

With a lovely view of Perkins Cove, this is an idyllic spot.  Take time before or after your meal to linger and look over the moored boats.  It’s a charming spot and worth the trip!

Thurston’s Lobster Pound – Five Generations

Enjoy Your Lobster Overlooking Lobster Boats

With a long and charming history, FW Thurston Company, was started in 1946 when Fred Thurston purchased property from another family member.  Since then, the dock on Bass Harbor has sold fuel, bait, and supplies to local fishermen, while serving as a space to purchase the lobsters that they haul in.

The restaurant started out as a tiny kitchen and just 12 tables under a bright yellow awning. With a simple but delicious menu, and a friendly, laid back atmosphere, Thurston’s Lobster Pound is a popular spot for the summer tourist crowd and locals alike. Fresh local lobsters served with a smile, a salty breeze, and a view of the boats that brought them in, is what Thurston’s has always been about.

Why we love it: Two sizes of lobster rolls.  Get a fork for the big one!

The Lobster Shack at Two Lights – A Local Landmark!

A Place Like No Other Since 1920. 

For an authentic Maine experience just about 30 minutes south of Portland, enjoy your lobster oceanside on the picnic tables, perched just above the crashing surf, below the lighthouse and next to the fog horn! Or, you can stay in the dining room, watching the ships enter Portland Harbor and the local fishermen haul up their daily catch.

The lobster rolls are totally generous with at least 4 ounces of lobster chunks on a buttered and toasted hot dog bun.  It comes with just a small spoonful of mayo on the top or you can request hot butter to drizzle all over it.  Yum!

Reborn in 2013 when the Miller family took over, the Landings Restaurant offers fresh lobster entrees with a view!

One of three restaurants overlooking the bay, this casual eatery is open for lunch and dinner.   Offering lobster risotto, roasted lobster pie, lobster rolls with mayo and a hint of lemon and an incredible lobster BLT with a slab of (house-made, no preservatives) bacon, The Landings is a must stop when while visiting Rockland.

About as close to the Halifax Harbour as it gets! The casual atmosphere of the Bar & Patio, with  waterfront location make Salty’s a natural for gatherings during the day and well into the evening.

If you desire something quieter then head upstairs to the restaurant, which offers a superb view of Halifax Harbour, and a great selection of local shellfish, fish, steak, lamb and chicken.  The views make the ideal backdrop for a romantic dinner, social occasion, or business luncheon.
